U.S. naval blockade in Gulf of Oman and Hormuz to question and search neutral vessels
Neutral vessels sailing between neutral ports in the Gulf of Oman and Hormuz Strait may be questioned, boarded, and searched to confirm their intentions, regardless of flag or ownership, as part of U.S. naval blockade enforcement. The Joint Maritime Information Centre advisory applies even to vessels in ballast or carrying neutral cargo, and recommends that ships not needing to transit the area stay away to avoid delays.
