WATCH: Blow it all up! IDF demolishes Hezbollah weapons in southern Lebanon

The IDF continues to sweep through southern Lebanon to find and destroy Hezbollah weaponry and terrorist infrastructure to destroy or confiscate it.

Forces of the combat teams of 769th Brigade and 7th Brigade have been conducting such sweeps over the past few days within the parameters of the ceasefire between Israel, Lebanon, and Hezbollah.

As part of that effort, the 769th Brigade located a number of Hezbollah weapons warehouses containing mortar rounds, missiles, rockets, explosive devices, weapons, and a great deal of military equipment.

All the weapons were confiscated and the warehouses were blown up.

The IDF also eliminated a number of Hezbollah terrorists in the area and drove away suspicious characters who presented a danger to IDF forces.

The IDF was originally supposed to leave southern Lebanon by January 26, according to the ceasefire agreement. However, the IDF and the Israeli government complained that the Lebanese Army was deploying too slowly and that it was not working hard enough to truly demilitarize southern Lebanon of weapons and soldiers - including Hezbollah.

A number of reports have even emerged of senior and junior Lebanese Army officers collaborating with Hezbollah and providing them with sensitive information.

The IDF has also complained that Hezbollah violated the ceasefire "hundreds" of times in trying to smuggle in armed men or move weapons around in southern Lebanon.

Consequently, Israel requested and received an extension of the ceasefire from the Trump administration to February 18, two weeks and one day from today (Monday).

US Envoy Morgan Ortagus recently visited Lebanon with the aim of ensuring that the Lebanese Army properly inspect some thirty suspected Hezbollah weapons sites. The United States is reportedly informing the Lebanese government to appoint officers who would adhere to the ceasefire rather than work with Hezbollah to circumvent it.
