Occupation of Beit Hanoun was Completed; Command was Transferred to the Div

In recent weeks, the reserve fighters of Division 252 fought in the area of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. The infantry, armor, engineering and fire forces of the division overwhelmed the Beit Hanoun battalion while taking over command and control centers and terrorist outposts of Hamas, including schools and public buildings where tunnel shafts and many weapons were located.

The forces of the division eliminated many terrorists, destroyed weapons stockpiles, missile launch positions towards Israel and underground headquarters used by the terrorist organization. The underground infrastructure of Hamas in the Beit Hanoun area was significantly damaged, the shafts were handled and with them major tunnel routes.

As part of the activity, the forces of the 'Harel' Brigade (10) in cooperation with special forces revealed the route of the central terrorist tunnels of the Beit Hanoun Battalion, which is located in the heart of the urban center of Beit Hanoun between the city hall, a mosque, the soccer field and the kindergarten. A Hamas combat training complex was also uncovered in the same area, which included laser shooting training equipment.

During an operation on the spot, the forces of the attack cell of the Harel Brigade (10) identified the exit of two terrorists from a tunnel shaft and the joining of two other terrorists who were moving quickly in a vehicle towards our forces. The brigade's attack cell closed a fast circle and directed Air Force aircraft that eliminated the terrorist squad.

With the completion of Division 252's mission in Beit Hanoun, responsibility in the sector was transferred to the forces under the command of the Gaza Division.
