Route 77 Fatal Crash: Three Killed Near Zarzir Interchange

A devastating multi-vehicle collision on Route 77 claimed the lives of three women and left at least ten others injured on Sunday afternoon. The accident, involving a truck, a minibus, and several private cars, occurred near the Zarzir Interchange in northern Israel.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene at 3:11 PM. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics and Fire and Rescue teams arrived to find a "difficult scene" of crushed vehicles, with several victims trapped inside a private car.

Fatalities and Injuries

Following complex extrication efforts by firefighters, medical teams were forced to pronounce the deaths of three women, estimated to be in their 30s and 40s, at the scene. They had suffered catastrophic multi-system trauma.

MDA teams treated and evacuated the remaining victims to nearby hospitals, including:

One woman (39): In serious condition with chest and abdominal injuries.
One woman (39): In moderate condition with multi-system trauma.
Approximately 8 others: Listed in light condition.

Israel Police closed the section of Route 77 to traffic, causing heavy congestion in the Zarzir area. Traffic investigators remain on-site to collect evidence and determine the cause of the collision between the heavy vehicles and the private cars.

Israel Hasid, spokesperson for ZAKA Tel Aviv, noted the alarming spike in road fatalities: "In less than 24 hours, seven people have been killed in fatal accidents across the country. This is a cruel and deadly statistic we haven't seen in a long time. Drive carefully, you have family and friends waiting for you at home."
