Son Har-Melech Storms Arab MKs' Conference: 'This Is Our Land'

A dramatic confrontation erupted in the Knesset Tuesday morning when Otzma Yehudit MK Limor Son Har-Melech stormed a conference organized by Arab members of Knesset under the provocative title "How They Do Transfer," sparking a heated exchange that laid bare the deep political fault lines dividing Israeli lawmakers.

Son Har-Melech, a widow of terror who has become one of the most outspoken voices in the current coalition, burst into the event and immediately challenged the Arab lawmakers. "This is a great disgrace to the Knesset of Israel," she declared forcefully. "It won't work for you. This is our land. This is the inheritance of our forefathers and the home of the Jewish people. You are the greatest disgrace in the Knesset. It's shameful and disgraceful that you're holding this terrible discussion in this place. You are terror supporters and supporters of a Palestinian state."

The confrontation quickly escalated as MK Ofer Cassif began shouting insults at Son Har-Melech, while MK Aida Touma-Sliman responded with what observers described as dismissive contempt. "I must tell you that your pain is understandable because you know that a Palestinian state will be established and that you will have to fold," Touma-Sliman stated. "Meanwhile, you have a few days in power and you'll be flying out soon. So sit quietly or leave. Get out of here."

Son Har-Melech fired back immediately: "You will be flying out. Aida, you know exactly who's flying out next time. The fact that the Knesset of Israel allows such a discussion to take place is a disgrace. You see what's happening in Judea and Samaria - the Jewish people are returning to the region. Your discussion is a mark of shame for the Knesset."

Coalition MK Joins the Fray

The volatile scene intensified further when MK Almog Cohen arrived at the conference venue and confronted the Arab lawmakers with his own sharp rebuke. "May a thousand and two thousand of your mothers cry and not one of ours," Cohen declared. "Traitors."

The incident comes at a particularly sensitive political moment, as the Knesset prepares to vote on dissolution and the country heads toward early elections. Son Har-Melech, who lost her husband Shuli in a 2003 terror attack near Ramallah, has emerged as one of the most passionate advocates for Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria. Her personal tragedy has shaped her political worldview and fueled her uncompromising stance on security and territorial issues.

The Arab MKs' conference, which focused on what they characterized as Israeli policies of displacement, represents the ongoing tension between Arab lawmakers who view themselves as advocates for Palestinian rights and coalition members who see such activities as undermining Israel's legitimacy.

As Israel approaches what promises to be a contentious election campaign, Tuesday's confrontation may preview the heated rhetoric and fundamental disagreements that will dominate the political discourse in the months ahead.
