Israel's security establishment is preparing for a potential Iranian missile strike following Sunday's IDF airstrikes on Hezbollah command posts in Beirut's Dahiyeh district, according to reports from Channel 12 News. The heightened alert comes after intelligence indicated Iran had previously threatened direct retaliation if Israel targeted the Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut.
According to the report, Iran issued a warning several days ago stating that any Israeli strikes in Dahiyeh would trigger a missile response from Tehran. Israeli defense officials are now assessing whether that threat remains active following Sunday's operation, which saw three missiles strike two apartment buildings used as terrorist command posts in the densely populated neighborhood.
The uncertainty centers on whether Iran's warning was time-limited or represents an ongoing red line. "We don't know if this was a threat valid only for that specific day, or if we're now looking at a scenario where the Dahiyeh strike will push Iran to resume the war," a security source told Channel 12.
