Bnei Brak Killer's Escape Route Revealed

Security camera analysis conducted by the Dan District Unit for Combating Crime revealed the suspect's escape route through Bnei Brak's streets. The footage shows him concealing a blood-soaked glove and the knife used in the attack inside his jacket as he ran from the kollel.

Investigators determined the suspect entered a derelict building several blocks away, where he disposed of both the weapon and the glove before continuing his flight. Police recovered the evidence during a systematic search of the area following the attack.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. His son, who witnessed the entire attack, has been receiving psychological support.

Police investigation uncovered a disturbing backstory to the violence. Both the suspect and victim regularly prayed at the same kollel facility, and the two had previously clashed over religious interpretations. Witness testimony revealed the suspect had threatened to kill the victim in the past, though no formal complaints were filed with authorities at the time.

The suspect was apprehended hours after the attack in the city of Beit Shemesh, where he had fled following the murder. He has remained in custody since his arrest, with his detention repeatedly extended by the court.

The case has sparked controversy after a judge's repeated orders for a psychiatric evaluation of the suspect were allegedly ignored by the district psychiatrist, who argued such an assessment could not be properly conducted at the current stage of proceedings. The court issued four separate directives demanding the evaluation be carried out, according to sources familiar with the matter.

With the investigation now complete, prosecutors confirmed Wednesday the suspect's detention has been extended an additional five days until June 14, pending the formal filing of murder charges. The indictment is expected to detail the premeditated nature of the attack and the suspect's prior threats against the victim.
