A video circulating on social media has triggered fierce backlash in the United States after showing a theatrical performance that mimicked the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist known for his pro-Israel advocacy. Kirk was fatally shot during an event at a university in Utah.
The footage, filmed at a gathering in San Francisco, shows a participant using red-painted hands and dramatic gestures to simulate the moment of the shooting.
The "Libs of TikTok" account, which shared the clip widely, accused participants of "mocking the brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk" and labeled the performance "evil." Social media users expressed horror at the display.
One commenter wrote: "They turned murder into a stage show. There's no coming back from this." Others described the performance as "vile, wicked, repulsive and shameful." One user added: "I can't imagine going somewhere to watch people mock the murder of someone I deeply oppose."
