Yosef Haddad, the Israeli-Arab activist who recently joined the Amcha Yisrael party led by former IDF commander Ofer Winter, appeared on Galei Israel radio Wednesday and outlined his coalition red lines. "We are responsible and we will do what's good for the people of Israel," Haddad said. "We don't work for anyone, we're not in anyone's pocket."
Haddad emphatically ruled out any cooperation with Arab parties in the Knesset. "Does anyone for even one moment imagine that I would sit with Mansour Abbas?" he asked, referring to the leader of the Ra'am party. "Does anyone think for a moment that I would sit with a party that has a candidate who defended Ahlam Tamimi, that cursed terrorist? That I would sit with them, cooperate with them?"
He also accused Gadi Eisenkot, leader of a rival centrist party, of dismissing Amcha Yisrael from the outset. "Right after we launched the party on day one, Gadi Eisenkot disqualified us," Haddad said. "We said: our ticket is Ofer Winter as Defense Minister, Yosef Haddad as Public Diplomacy Minister. Eisenkot came and said: Ofer Winter will under no circumstances be Defense Minister."
