A New Enemy
Israel Detects Massive Hezbollah Build-Up: US Delivers Ultimatum With November Deadline.
Senior Israeli defense officials warned of Hezbollah's rapid rearmament, prompting the US to deliver a stern message to Lebanon that Israel may take military action if the terrorist group is not disarmed by the end of November.

Senior defense officials have issued grave warnings to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, indicating that the terrorist organization Hezbollah is accelerating a significant process of rearmament and infrastructure reconstruction in southern Lebanon. Amid these assessments, a high-stakes diplomatic ultimatum has been delivered to the Lebanese government by the United States.
US Middle East envoy Tom Barrack warned Beirut that if Hezbollah’s forward deployment near the Israeli border is not "significantly altered by the end of November," Israel would be "entitled to take military action", a move the United States would "understand." This message underscores mounting international pressure on Lebanon to fulfill its commitment to disarm the Iran-backed group.
Evidence of Accelerated Buildup
During the security briefing, Israeli officials presented intelligence indicating a rapid and worrying resurgence of Hezbollah's capabilities. Security sources revealed that the organization is actively:
An Israeli official confirmed to Al Arabiya that these serious intelligence assessments indicate Hezbollah has successfully smuggled hundreds of short-range missiles from Syria, in violation of existing understandings.
Israel’s Red Lines and Threats
Israeli leadership has made it clear that the current situation is unsustainable. Diplomatic sources emphasized that Israel "will not tolerate a situation in which Hezbollah rebuilds its forces unimpeded."
Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stern public warning to the Lebanese government: "Hezbollah is playing with fire, and the President of Lebanon is dragging his feet. The Lebanese government’s commitment to disarm Hezbollah and remove it from southern Lebanon must be fulfilled." Katz added that "Maximum enforcement will continue and even intensify, we will not allow any threat to the residents of the north."
An Israeli official explicitly threatened that Israel would strike Hezbollah’s stronghold in Beirut's "Dahiya" suburb again should the terrorist organization not be disarmed. "We will not allow the reconstruction of the direct line of Lebanese villages along the northern border," the source declared.
In response to the intelligence, Israeli airstrikes have intensified in recent weeks, targeting Hezbollah positions and infrastructure. On Saturday, the IDF carried out a targeted strike that eliminated the logistics officer of Hezbollah's Radwan Force, who was involved in weapons transfers and rebuilding terrorist infrastructure. Three other Radwan operatives were also killed, as the IDF asserted their activities violated previous understandings and posed an immediate threat to Israeli civilians.
Lebanon as a "Failed State"
In a parallel development, US Ambassador to Turkey Thomas Barrack offered a bleak assessment of Lebanon in a separate forum, describing the country as a "failed state" that lacks basic infrastructure and services. "The state is Hezbollah," Barrack asserted, noting the group’s estimated 40,000 operatives and arsenal of between 15,000 to 20,000 rockets and missiles.
Barrack also revealed that Gulf nations are prepared to invest up to $10 billion in southern Lebanon, but only on the condition that Hezbollah disarms and the country distances itself from Iran. This potential investment would prioritize infrastructure projects, including a tourist site along the border, but relies on a fundamental shift in the security status quo, which Barrack stressed is currently unsustainable.
Amid the rising tension and explicit Israeli threats, Egypt has reportedly entered the mediation efforts to prevent a major escalation along the northern front.
