War in the north?
Israeli Air Force Launches Overnight Strike on Hezbollah Targets
Wave of airstrikes launched around midnight across southern Lebanon. IDF says Hezbollah facilities targeted include Radwan Force training site.

The IDF carried out a round of overnight airstrikes in southern Lebanon early Tuesday, targeting what the military described as key training and operational infrastructure used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Unit. The operation, led by Northern Command and executed by the Air Force, struck several locations tied to the group’s preparations for attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.
According to the IDF, the primary target was a training and instruction compound used by Radwan operatives for firearms practice, tactical drills, and instruction in a range of weapons systems. Military officials said the facility played a direct role in shaping attack plans intended for execution along the northern border. “The compound was used for planning and carrying out terror plots against IDF forces and the citizens of Israel,” the military said, adding that operatives trained there for cross border scenarios.
Security sources noted that the camp allowed Hezbollah to rehearse live fire exercises and other forms of military preparation that the organization views as essential to its strategy against Israel. The Radwan Unit, one of Hezbollah’s elite formations, has been a central focus of Israeli intelligence assessments since the outbreak of the conflict on the northern front.
In addition to the training site, the IDF struck military buildings and a launch site used by Hezbollah to advance operational plans. The military described the launch site as part of the group’s broader effort to prepare for future attacks targeting Israeli territory. These strikes, officials said, were intended to degrade Hezbollah’s ability to operate freely near the border.
“The targets that were struck, and the military training conducted ahead of activity against the State of Israel, constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and a threat to the State of Israel,” the IDF spokesperson said. “The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat to the State of Israel.”
The overnight strikes came shortly after midnight and hit multiple areas across southern Lebanon, marking another escalation in Israel’s efforts to disrupt Hezbollah’s operational infrastructure as tensions persist along the northern front. At the same time, Israeli officials continue to warn that Hezbollah’s ongoing training and deployment of forces near the border pose a growing threat that must be addressed before it becomes harder to contain.
