No More Launches: IDF Obliterates the Revolutionary Guard’s Air Force HQ in Tehran
Israeli forces have completely leveled the Revolutionary Guard's Air Force headquarters in central Tehran, the primary site used to plan and launch ballistic missile attacks against Israel.

On the eighth day of the war against the Iranian regime, the IDF Spokesperson revealed a monumental military achievement: the total destruction of the Revolutionary Guard’s Air Force headquarters in the heart of Tehran. This facility served as the central nervous system for the regime's most dangerous weapons systems, including its ballistic missile units and its vast fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, the headquarters was the "central control post" where senior commanders planned and synchronized attacks against Israel and other regional partners. By leveling this building, the IDF has effectively blinded the Iranian air command, making it nearly impossible for the regime to coordinate large scale missile barrages or drone swarms as they have in the past.
The Strategic Hub of the Ayatollahs
The destroyed headquarters was not merely a military barracks but a high tech operations center. It housed the command staff for the ballistic missile brigades, who were responsible for the technical calculations and launch sequences of long range weapons. It was also the site where the operational "picture" was maintained, allowing the regime to see which of its launchers were still active and where coalition aircraft were operating. "The planning of attacks toward the State of Israel and countries in the region took place in the heart of this headquarters," Defrin explained. Its loss means that the surviving Iranian missile crews are now operating in isolation, without the benefit of centralized intelligence or synchronized timing, significantly reducing the effectiveness of any future retaliation.
A Long Planned Move
The destruction of the headquarters follows a series of precise operations intended to hollow out the Guard’s leadership. The IDF noted that this facility was previously managed by Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the former commander of the Revolutionary Guard Air Force, who was liquidated by Israel in June 2025 during Operation Lion's Heart. That earlier operation involved gathering detailed intelligence on the behavior patterns of the Iranian command, eventually forcing them to gather in a subterranean command post where they were eliminated. The current strike on the physical headquarters ensures that even if new leaders were to be appointed, they have no functional infrastructure from which to command their forces.
Impact on the Remainder of the War
Military experts believe that this strike, combined with the earlier destruction of the regime's primary underground bunker, has pushed the Iranian military toward a state of total decentralization. Without a central headquarters to manage the radar networks and the launch pads, the regime's "integrated" defense system has collapsed into a collection of scattered, uncoordinated units. The IDF emphasized that this strike "harms the synchronization and coordination capabilities of missile launches toward the State of Israel." As the war enters its second week, the focus is now on hunting down the individual mobile launchers that no longer have a central home to report to, ensuring the "head of the snake" remains severed from its body.
