Iranian conservative media outlets and defense officials issued renewed threats on Sunday targeting regional energy infrastructure, dismissing Western reports that Tehran's retaliatory capabilities are constrained. The conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan published a front page report asserting that precision missile arsenals remain fully operational and focused on strategic targets across the Middle East.
State aligned publications rejected narratives suggesting that Iranian forces are incapable of responding effectively to American or Israeli military actions. Iranian commentators argued that Western media organizations are attempting to project weakness onto Tehran while downplaying Iran's strategic options.
"The most important energy facilities in the world, located in Israel and Arab countries, are still within the range of Iran's precision missiles," Kayhan reported in its Sunday front page feature.
The publication highlighted past military engagements as proof of deterrence capability, referencing strikes against regional energy sites during the 40 day war. The outlet claimed that targeting critical infrastructure remains an active option if Iranian facilities face direct attack.
"Western media, accompanied by some domestic outlets, are spreading news that an imminent attack by the United States and Israel on Iran's energy infrastructure is about to take place," the publication noted. "Iran has so far shown great restraint in the face of aggression by the Americans, who use the assistance of some countries in the region, and has given up many legitimate targets, but in the face of an attack on infrastructure, there is no longer room for any compromise."
Iranian news outlets, including the Fars News Agency, mocked statements from US President Donald Trump explaining his decision to call off scheduled air strikes. Media affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps characterized the President's public rationale as repetitive and unconvincing.
Meanwhile, Iranian military leadership characterized recent American announcements as psychological warfare designed to disrupt defense preparations. Acting Iranian Defense Minister Majid Ibn Al-Raza stated that security forces remain on high alert despite public statements regarding diplomatic delays.
"The recent statements of the enemy, although said within the framework of psychological operations and a war of calculations, are perceived by us as a real threat that must be taken seriously," Ibn Al-Raza published on social media. "We will not be surprised and we will not be passive, we are turning the threat into a basis for increasing readiness, strengthening deterrence, and intensifying our power."
According to statements provided to Reuters, regional intelligence agencies continue to monitor Iranian missile deployments near coastal launching sites to assess potential risks to international commercial navigation and energy distribution.
