After meeting with former hostages, Trump threatens Hamas with war
Trump drops shocking comment about U.S. military action in Gaza amid hostage crisis
In a press briefing at the White House on Thursday, President Donald Trump made a striking statement about the ongoing hostage crisis in Gaza, where both American and Israeli citizens are being held by Hamas.

When questioned about the potential for U.S. military involvement in operations against Gaza, Trump’s response was brief but pointed: "You’ll find out." This comment has raised speculation about the U.S. response to the escalating situation in the region.
During the briefing, Trump also spoke about his recent meeting with former hostages and their families, describing the brutal conditions the captives endured at the hands of Hamas. “I had the honor of spending a lot of time yesterday with quite a few of the people that we got out, and I can’t believe how badly treated they were,” he said. Trump went on to emphasize the gravity of the situation, noting that of the 59 hostages held, 24 are still alive. He also reaffirmed his administration's stance, stating, "Someone is going to have to get a lot rougher with Hamas," underscoring his commitment to securing the hostages' release.
These developments come amid growing tensions in the Middle East as diplomatic efforts to end the hostage crisis have hit a standstill. Hamas, through its spokesperson Abu Obeida, has threatened that any Israeli military escalation could result in the deaths of the hostages. In a video statement released Thursday, Obeida warned, “Any escalation of aggression against our people will lead to the killing of the hostages. To the families of the hostages, we have proof of life of the remaining living hostages.”
With the international community closely watching the situation, the pressure is mounting on both the U.S. and Israel to find a solution to the crisis while preventing further loss of life.
