Dr Eli David is warning that the Islamic Republic of Iran may initiate military escalation in the coming weeks with the aim of influencing the political landscape in the United States.
In an interview on the Doron Cohen and Benny Tziper programme on Galei Yisrael radio, Dr David laid out his analysis of the regime's calculations in Tehran vis-à-vis the American administration.
According to Dr David, the Iranians' window of opportunity to apply pressure on the administration in Washington is closing. "The Iranians know that after the midterm elections they will have no leverage left over President Trump," he said. "He will be able to do to them whatever he wants."
