The White House is deploying dozens of refuelling aircraft back to the Middle East after withdrawing them to the United States during the ceasefire with Tehran, as Washington prepares for a possible resumption of hostilities with Iran.
US sends tankers back as Iran truce frays
After pulling dozens of refuelling aircraft out of the region during the ceasefire with Tehran, the Pentagon is now deploying them back in preparation for a possible return to combat with Iran

Civilian flight-tracking tools monitoring American tanker movements show the US rebuilding its regional presence after significantly drawing it down during the Iran ceasefire.
According to the data, the American military is positioning itself for a substantial force posture in the region, with at least 20 refuelling aircraft that left the area in recent months now returning to the theatre. Dozens of additional tankers are expected to join the air corridor to the region in the coming days.
Pentagon sources say the United States is configuring its force deployment in the region for the possibility that combat with Iran will resume, and to give President Trump the maximum range of options for action against Iran.
