Actress Aubrey Plaza, known for her role in HBO's "The White Lotus," has become a mother for the first time at age 42. Plaza and her partner, actor Christopher Abbott, welcomed a daughter in the final week of July, according to reports.
The news comes several months after Plaza's pregnancy was first revealed. In April, it became public that she and Abbott were expecting their first child together. The couple has now officially stepped into their new roles as parents.
Plaza and Abbott have known each other for years and previously collaborated professionally. They appeared together in the 2020 film "Black Bear" and later shared the stage in the 2023 theatrical production "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea." Reports of their romantic relationship only emerged within the past year.
For Plaza, this new chapter arrives after an exceptionally difficult personal period. In January 2025, her husband, filmmaker and screenwriter Jeff Baena, died by suicide at age 47. The two had been together for more than a decade and married in 2021, though they had separated several months before his death.
