The Habima National Theater will mark October 7th with a moving and unique event: a staged reading of the play "Love at the Edge of the Tunnel," written in the spirit of hostages Keith and Aviva Siegel's story, performed by Moni Moshonov and Sandra Sade and directed by Ilil Samel.
As the third anniversary of the October 7th attacks approaches, Israel's national theater will present the first public reading of an original work inspired by the experiences of captivity survivors Keith and Aviva Siegel, who were kidnapped together from their home in Kfar Aza. The event will take place on October 6th at the Habima Theater.
The creative process behind the play, initiated by Eitan Schwartz and written by Michal Aharoni, was developed in full partnership with Aviva and Keith themselves. This is not merely the story of a couple abducted together, but first and foremost, a love story and a testament to commitment between two people who have lived together for over forty years and found themselves in an impossible situation. The couple will be portrayed by Sandra Sade and Moni Moshonov, themselves a married couple who have taken an active role in the public campaign to bring the hostages home.
"Love at the Edge of the Tunnel" is an intimate two-person play that seeks to tell Aviva and Keith's story not only through the historical chronicle of October 7th, but through the love story and shared life that preceded it. It brings to the stage, above all, a love story, a love that enabled them to survive even under the harshest conditions. Through dialogue between two characters who are sometimes together and sometimes apart, the personal story, the experience of captivity, and the struggle to preserve human dignity in a world where freedom, security, and control over their lives were stripped away gradually unfold.
