Fresh off Eurovision and a hit season on Dancing with the Stars, Eden Golan is heading to Disney.
The Israeli singer has been chosen to perform the closing song for the Hebrew dubbing of the live-action Moana, set to hit Israeli cinemas on July 8. The song, titled "Kol HaMasa" (The Whole Journey), is an original composition written specifically for the live-action version by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the acclaimed creator behind the music of the original 2016 animated film, which grossed over $640 million worldwide.
Golan joins a Hebrew voice cast that includes Meshi Kleinshtein as Moana and Eran Mor as Maui. In the American version, the roles are played by Chloe Laugeha and Dwayne Johnson, who also voiced his character in the original animated film.
Disney's choice of Golan is a natural fit. She represented Israel at Eurovision, finishing fifth with "Hurricane," and has been one of the standout performers this season on Dancing with the Stars alongside veteran dancer Artem Lyaskovsky.
The live-action Moana is part of Disney's ongoing wave of animated-to-live-action adaptations, following Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Snow White, the latter starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot.
"Kol HaMasa" is already available on streaming platforms. The film opens in Israel on July 8.
