Bruges to Host Eurovision 2027

Belgian coastal city selected after weeks of speculation among competing European venues

Bruges

The European Broadcasting Union announced Thursday that Bruges, the Belgian coastal city, will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027.

The decision ends weeks of speculation and intense competition among major European cities vying for the prestigious event.

Bruges prevailed thanks to its modern infrastructure and cultural vision, organizers said. The announcement surprised even dedicated Eurovision fans, as the picturesque city beat out larger metropolitan competitors to secure one of the world's most-watched music events.

Local residents have already begun celebrating, and preparations for the massive international event are expected to begin shortly.

The semi-finals are scheduled for May 11 and 13, with the grand final set for Saturday night, May 15.
