A magistrate's court in Petah Tikva on Monday extended the detention of a suspect accused of taking 10-year-old Yaheli Sofer from Petah Tikva to Bnei Brak until Thursday. The hearing revealed disturbing new details about the incident, which ended when the child was located in Bnei Brak.
According to Israel Hayom, police representatives described the case as extremely serious. They detailed how the suspect approached Yaheli and his friends at a playground in Petah Tikva. While the other children became frightened and fled, the suspect persuaded the 10-year-old to accompany him. He then led the boy on a journey to Bnei Brak, at times having him ride on a scooter.
