East Jerusalem Resident Arrested Following Burglary of Synagogue and Home
Jerusalem District Police arrested a 30-year-old suspect overnight after he was caught robbing a house in the German Colony neighborhood. Investigations have further linked him to a recent break-in at a local synagogue.

During an operational sweep by officers from the Moriah Station, police received a report regarding a suspicious individual breaking into a home in the upscale German Colony neighborhood. Responding rapidly, officers arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect before he could flee.
Police discovered that the suspect had a significant amount of stolen property, including cash, silver and gold antiques, smartphones and other smart devices and bicycles and knives.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect, a resident of East Jerusalem in his 30s, is also believed to be responsible for a separate burglary that occurred two days ago at a neighborhood synagogue.
The suspect was taken in for questioning and is scheduled to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today. The police have indicated they will request an extension of his remand to facilitate the ongoing investigation into his involvement in other potential crimes in the area.
