Israeli security forces responded to a security incident Sunday in Judea and Samaria after a suspicious object attached to a Palestinian flag was discovered near Metzudat David, a small farming outpost. Initial reports raised concerns about a possible explosive device intended to harm local farmers, residents, or security personnel operating in the area, particularly given repeated attempts by hostile elements to stage provocations and attacks in rural parts of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).
Police from the Judea and Samaria district were immediately dispatched to the scene, along with bomb disposal experts from the Border Police's Judea and Samaria division, who arrived under tight security provided by IDF soldiers. The forces cordoned off the area and began professional procedures to neutralize the potential threat.
After careful scanning and thorough examination by the bomb technicians using specialized equipment, it was determined that the object was not an active explosive device but rather a fake bomb apparently designed to create panic and test the response time of security forces arriving at the scene.
