The IDF reported a series of incidents on Sunday in which a large number of terrorists attempted to cross the so-called “yellow line” into areas under Israeli control in the Gaza Strip, a development officials say could indicate a worrying trend. Ground forces carried out warning fire, while the Israeli Air Force conducted aerial strikes to remove the threat.

According to an update from the IDF Spokesperson, several crossing attempts were identified over the course of the day and in recent hours, during which terrorists breached or approached the yellow line, endangering forces operating in the area.

Earlier on Sunday, combat team troops from the Jerusalem Brigade operating in northern Gaza identified several suspects gathering near the yellow line and opened warning fire to drive them away.

At least two additional incidents were later reported involving further violations of the yellow line, again posing a direct risk to IDF troops on the ground. In two separate cases in northern Gaza, combat teams from the Northern Brigade and the 16th Brigade identified two terrorists who crossed the yellow line and advanced toward them in a manner deemed threatening.

In all three incidents, the Israeli Air Force carried out aerial strikes against the terrorists, guided by ground forces, as part of efforts to neutralize the threat and protect IDF activity in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF did not report any Israeli casualties in the incidents and said it continues to closely monitor developments along the security lines in Gaza.
