Hamas Admits Protests Fueled Their Strategy

Eitan Mor, a survivor of Hamas captivity who was abducted during the October 7 massacre and later released, has come forward with chilling details regarding the military capabilities and intelligence gathered by the terrorist organization. Speaking at a national education conference hosted by Makor Rishon and the Bnei Akiva Yeshivot Center, Mor shared his firsthand observations of how the terrorists operate. He warned that the group possesses a level of knowledge about the Israeli Defense Forces that rival, and sometimes exceeds, that of the average Israeli soldier.

According to Mor, the terrorists have compiled detailed booklets in Arabic that contain specific data on Israeli military equipment, tools, and weaponry. Their intelligence gathering is remarkably strong, and they have used the duration of the war to innovate. Mor noted that during his time in Gaza, the terrorists manufactured new types of explosives specifically designed to be thrown at tanks, which were successfully deployed in the field. He emphasized that the group’s focus never wavers, stating that they know a lot about the army, even more than most of the soldiers serving today.

One of the most provocative points of Mor’s testimony involved the impact of internal Israeli politics on the terrorist group's morale. When asked if the weekly protests at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv had inadvertently assisted the enemy, Mor was blunt. He stated that Hamas has admitted the protests helped them, clarifying that this was not his personal opinion but a fact relayed by the terrorists themselves. He suggested that those who disagree should take their complaints directly to the source. Mor further explained that while Israelis might seek to return to normalcy, the Gazan mentality is entirely programmed around the goal of liberating Al-Aqsa. He warned that even when the fighting seems to slow, the terrorists are constantly recruiting and manufacturing more explosives for the next stage of the war.

The emotional toll of the ordeal was also highlighted by Eitan’s father, Tzvika Mor. He described the agonizing two years spent wondering if his son was being fed or given water. Tzvika shared that he felt a deep sense of guilt whenever he ate a delicious meal or drank a glass of water, knowing his son might be suffering from deprivation. The testimony from both father and son serves as a stark reminder that while the military war continues, the psychological and intelligence war being waged by Hamas is equally persistent.
