Hamas can't make payroll: Lays off future martyrs in cost-cut
Recruitment has cratered as even the most radical extremists now expect full-time salaries, basic job security, and maybe even a dental plan—none of which Hamas can afford.

Hamas suffers from a shortage of cash and has difficulty paying salaries to the organization's terrorists, which also makes it difficult to recruit new terrorists, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
After a number of assassinations of senior Hamas officials, along with the suspension of humanitarian aid that the organization would have taken over, Hamas has entered a severe economic crisis. Among the senior officials who were killed were terrorists who were responsible for obtaining the cash and paying the salaries.
It was also reported that Hamas has stopped paying salaries to the organization's terrorists and that even senior Hamas officials receive half salaries. A terrorist's salary is $200-300 a month, and Hamas has a hard time getting "cash" for salaries.
As may be recalled, Defense Minister Israel Katz clarified last night: "Israel's policy is clear and no humanitarian aid is about to enter Gaza, and preventing humanitarian aid to Gaza is one of the main pressure tools that prevents Hamas from using this means vis-à-vis the population, in addition to the other steps taken by Israel – and it is a shame that there are those who are trying to mislead.
