Human Skeletal Remains Discovered Off Herzliya Coast

A grim discovery at the Herzliya Marina: Maritime police and ZAKA volunteers have recovered human skeletal remains found deep underwater. Forensic teams are now working to identify the remains as a formal investigation gets underway.

Israel Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of what appears to be human skeletal remains in the waters off Herzliya. The remains were spotted deep underwater by local swimmers earlier today, Tuesday,

Maritime police units from the Tel Aviv District initiated a search and successfully located the remains. In a coordinated effort, volunteers from ZAKA Herzliya assisted the maritime police and forensic investigators (MaZAP) from the Yarkon region in recovering the remains and bringing them to shore.

The remains have been transferred to the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification and further analysis. At this stage, the identity of the individual and the circumstances surrounding their death remain unknown. Police officers from the Glilot station are currently leading the ongoing investigation.
