A boat sank this morning inside Herzliya Marina, triggering an urgent environmental response by Israeli emergency services.

According to initial reports, the vessel went down while moored or docked in the marina. Firefighters, marine police units, and environmental protection teams from the Ministry of Environmental Protection are on scene, working to contain any potential fuel, oil, or chemical leaks from the sunken boat. Booms and barriers have been deployed in the water as a precautionary measure to stop any hazardous materials from spreading into the sea.

No injuries have been reported at this stage, and it is not yet clear whether anyone was on board when the boat sank. The cause of the incident remains unknown and is under investigation.

Herzliya Marina is one of Israel’s largest and busiest marinas, home to hundreds of private and recreational vessels. Local authorities have not yet issued an official statement, but the rapid deployment of specialized teams indicates the primary concern is environmental protection rather than search-and-rescue.
