Israel’s Home Front Command is issuing a fresh warning today as the country prepares for the Passover holiday. Officials are alerting the public to a potential increase in long-range fire from Iran during the holiday eve.

One month into this war, 19 Israelis and 4 Palestinians have been killed by Iranian missile fire. The humanitarian impact is growing, with 600 people injured, 18 of them in serious condition, and 5,500 people left homeless. These numbers do not include casualties among troops fighting on the northern front.

The Strategy Behind the Strikes

Despite the Houthis officially joining the fray, the Home Front Command says there are no changes to current safety instructions for the public. A full situational assessment is scheduled for after the holiday.

Military officials believe the reason we haven't seen even larger Iranian barrages is due to technical limitations on Tehran’s end. However, there is a concern that recent hits near Dimona and Arad may encourage Iran to keep targeting the south.

Better Prep for the North

In some positive news, the Home Front Command noted that new upgrades to the early warning systems are now in place. This will give residents in the north more time to reach shelter when an alert is triggered.

The Bottom Line

Stay vigilant over the holiday, follow all sirens immediately, and keep an eye on official updates as the situation evolves.
