Omri Miran, a 48-year-old Israeli father abducted by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, attack on Kibbutz Nahal Oz, was reunited with his wife, Lishay Miran Lavi, and their two young daughters, Alma and Roni, following his release on Monday as part of a ceasefire agreement.

Miran was kidnapped in front of his wife and daughters when Hamas gunmen broke into their family home in the kibbutz.

His wife, Lishay, described seeing him driven away in his own car during the assault.

As the oldest among the 20 living hostages released by Hamas on October 13, Miran was handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross and then to Israeli forces.

Upon his arrival in Israel, Miran stepped out of a Red Cross vehicle and met with Israeli army officials, while his wife watched the moment via a television feed. He was then transported to a hospital where he reunited with his family, including speaking with his daughters for the first time in two years.

Miran's brother-in-law, Moshe Lavi, who had been advocating for his release, spoke about the family's preparations and the emotional reunion.

The family released a statement expressing their joy after Miran was handed over to IDF troops in the Gaza Strip.
