In a chilling escalation that could ignite the Middle East anew, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz dropped a bombshell warning: Yemen's ruthless Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, are scheming a ground invasion into northern Israel from Syrian soil.

With tensions skyrocketing, the IDF is on high alert, fortifying the Golan Heights against what Katz calls a potential "Al-Aqsa Flood"-style assault, echoing Hamas's deadly October 7 rampage. Katz revealed to a Knesset committee that Houthis are among terror forces embedded in Syria, eyeing Israeli towns in the Golan or even a seaborne strike on Eilat in the south.

"Israel is not moving toward peace with Syria because forces within its borders are plotting to invade," Katz thundered, slamming the door on any détente with Damascus amid these threats.

The Houthis, infamous for their Red Sea shipping assaults and missile barrages on Israel in solidarity with Gaza, have reportedly trained for this audacious operation.

Though they've paused direct attacks since early November under a fragile truce, insiders warn their "surprise" retaliation could come via proxies in Syria, potentially catching Israel off guard.
