FORGED IN BLOOD, STEELED IN FIRE: Lt. Col. Daniel Ela Resumes Command of 52nd to Crush Hezbollah’s Front Lines

Three commanders wounded, one unbreakable spirit. After the latest leader was critically injured in Bint Jbeil, Lt. Col. Daniel Ela returns for his 3rd stint at the helm of the 52nd.

In a stunning and rare display of resilience amid the chaos of war, Lt. Col. Daniel Ela is taking command of the IDF’s 52nd Armored Battalion (401st “Iron Trails” Brigade) for the third time, after yet another battalion commander was seriously wounded in brutal fighting.

Yesterday, April 14, in the fiery battlegrounds of Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon, the third Magad, identified only as Lt. Col. A’, was critically injured during intense clashes with Hezbollah forces. He was airlifted for urgent treatment. The circumstances are now under investigation.

This marks an extraordinary and sobering milestone for the legendary 52nd:

Three commanders down in under two years of relentless combat, Gaza to Lebanon, yet the 52nd refuses to break.

With the unit locked in heavy operations against Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure, Ela, battle-tested, beloved by his soldiers, and forged in fire, is back at the helm. Israeli sources confirm he has already assumed command on the front lines.

The 52nd Armored Battalion has bled, but it has never bowed. In the face of unrelenting danger, its commanders keep rising, proving once again that the spirit of the Iron Trails cannot be shattered.

We salute Lt. Col. Daniel Ela and every fighter of the 52nd.

Wishing a full, speedy recovery to the latest wounded commander and all the soldiers on the front.

Am Yisrael Chai. The fight goes on.
