Operation Loudspeaker: Netanyahu risks IDF soldiers' lives for nothing
IDF ordered to deploy loudspeakers to broadcast PM's UN speech into Gaza

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has instructed the IDF to set up powerful loudspeakers along the Gaza perimeter to ensure residents inside the Strip can hear Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s UN address directly, according to multiple Hebrew media reports.
This effort constitutes a significant act of information warfare aimed at cutting through Hamas propaganda and highlighting Israel's case directly to the civilian population under the group's rule.
The directive has already put IDF reserve forces at high risk. A separate report detailed the precarious mission to deploy the equipment:
Reserve soldiers were instructed to place the loudspeakers in the early morning hours in the Gaza Strip, under the escort of tanks and in close proximity to the Gazan population.
A reserve soldier who participated in the operation spoke to i24NEWS, describing the operation as extremely dangerous:
While the strategic upside of direct communication is clear, implementation faces significant operational challenges.
According to reports, the order envisioned hooking up systems "across the Gaza Strip," but the army voiced operational concerns about exposing troops to potential ambushes if they must reposition equipment near the fence. Commanders are currently assessing the exact deployment points and scope of the operation, balancing the strategic goal against the risk to forces on the ground.
Belaaz reported:
Although soldiers claimed that they were sent to escort trucks with loudspeakers several kilometers inside Gaza, Netanyahu’s office claimed the speakers were only placed along the borders ... Parents of soldiers even sent a furious letter to Eyal Zamir and Israel Katz, accusing the government of “endangering soldiers for a political stunt.”
