IDF Chief of Staff in Lebanon: "2,000 Hezbollah Terrorists Eliminated; Targets in Iran Are Ready"
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir toured Southern Lebanon, revealing that 2,000 Hezbollah terrorists have been killed in Operation Lion's Roar. He warned that the IDF has targets in Iran ready for attack and toured a terror tunnel found beneath a children’s shop.

IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, conducted a high-level operational tour in Southern Lebanon today (Wednesday), visiting the Al-Khiam sector to assess the ongoing campaign against Hezbollah. During the visit, Zamir revealed that Israel’s military reach remains poised for further escalation, stating that a wide array of strategic targets within Iran are already "prepared for attack."
Accompanying the Chief of Staff were Northern Command head Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, Head of the Technological and Logistics Directorate Maj. Gen. Rami Abudraham, and 91st Division Commander Brig. Gen. Yuval Gaz.
Terror Under a Children's Store
The focus of the tour was a newly uncovered underground Hezbollah complex. Zamir toured a tunnel 25 meters deep, which Israeli forces found concealed directly beneath a civilian children's clothing store.
"This is further proof that Hezbollah uses civilian spaces to conduct terrorist activities under the cover of the population," Zamir explained to commanders. "We are working systematically to locate and destroy these infrastructures."
He emphasized that there is "no limit to the use of force" required to remove threats to Israel’s northern communities and troops.
Operation "Lion’s Roar" by the Numbers
The Chief of Staff provided a status update on the ongoing offensive, dubbed Operation "Lion's Roar."
More than 2,000 Hezbollah terrorists have been eliminated since the start of the operation.
Zamir stated that Israel is currently in a "historical window" to reshape the regional reality across multiple theaters. He noted that coordination with the United States military remains continuous as the IDF monitors the broader situation.
Eyes on Tehran
Addressing the direct tension with Iran, Lt. Gen. Zamir made it clear that the military's focus extends well beyond the Lebanese border.
"In Iran, we have a series of additional targets ready for attack," Zamir declared. "We are at high readiness to return to a powerful and broad campaign that will deepen our achievements and further weaken the Iranian regime."
Zamir concluded by praising the leadership of regular and reserve commanders, calling the IDF the "shield" for the residents of the north. He vowed that Israeli forces would not withdraw until a long-term security solution is secured for the Galilee.
