Urgent IDF Warning: Massive Hezbollah Rocket Barrages Expected in Northern Israel Tonight
The IDF Spokesperson warns northern residents to prepare for heavy Hezbollah rocket fire in the coming hours. Security sources state that forces are "alert and ready" to strike back and intercept incoming threats.

In a move reflecting "lessons learned" from previous escalations, the IDF Spokesperson issued a special warning this afternoon (Tuesday), notifying residents of northern Israel to prepare for extensive rocket fire from Hezbollah in the coming hours.
Military intelligence has detected "increased preparedness" by Hezbollah to carry out large-scale rocket barrages. The IDF emphasized that security forces are fully deployed and ready for both defensive and offensive maneuvers.
"The IDF is acting to thwart the actions of the Hezbollah terror organization," the military statement read. "The air defense arrays and IDF forces deployed along the borders are alert, vigilant, and ready in both attack and defense."
Unlike previous incidents where the public was notified after the fire began, the IDF and local leaders (such as the head of the Mateh Asher Council) are providing a specific window—around 19:00 (7:00 PM)—for the expected start of the attack.
The IDF reports that while Hezbollah's arsenal has been depleted by roughly 80% during "Operation Roaring Lion," they still retain enough long-range and precision weaponry to carry out this specific threat.
Citizens are urged to remain alert and strictly follow the life-saving instructions of the Home Front Command.
The IDF identifies a significantly higher volume of fire than in recent days, shifting from "dozens" of projectiles to a coordinated barrage of 250+ rockets and multiple drone swarms.
The IDF warned that it "will not allow harm to the citizens of the State of Israel and will respond with force to any emerging threat."
A security source speaking to Srugim noted that while the military is bracing for a significant Hezbollah escalation, it is also monitoring the possibility of fire from Iran. However, the source pointed out: "We are prepared in both defense and attack. Last week we managed to disrupt some of their plans and interception rates were high. At this stage, we do not see a 'thread' of coordination [between Hezbollah and Iran] regarding these specific barrages."
The official assessment suggests that this current wave of fire is a standalone effort by Hezbollah, though the IDF remains on high alert across all fronts to prevent any surprises.
