National Security Council updates travel advisory for Israelis in Canada due to antisemitism
The increasing number of physical attacks against Jewish institutions in Canada has led Israel to raise the alert level for the country from safe to somewhat dangerous.
The Israeli National Security Council raised the threat level for Israelis in Canada from level one (no threat) to level two (occasional threat) due to the sharp increase in antisemitic attacks there in the last year and a half, according to Channel 14 News.
Since October 7, there has been an increase in arson attacks, shooting attacks, and provocative pro-Palestinian protests throughout Canada, targeting Jews and Jewish institutions.
In addition, pro-Palestinian protestors are expected to face off against today's (Sunday) pro-Israel parade in Toronto, with the leaders of the violent anti-Israel protestors in Amsterdam reportedly flying special to clash with Jews at that parade.
Israelis attending the parade are asked to avoid any friction with the pro-Palestinian protestors and to generally hide any clearly Jewish markers.
