Missiles fall. Israel rises in prayer.
Defiant Faith: Israelis Pray in Bunkers as Iranian Missiles Pound the Night Sky | WATCH
As Iranian missiles rained down on Israel, Jews across the country united in prayer, turning to God for protection and strength in a night marked by both destruction and extraordinary faith.

As Iranian missiles streaked across the night sky and air raid sirens wailed through cities and towns across Israel, a different kind of sound echoed from homes, synagogues, and makeshift shelters: the whispered and thunderous prayers of a nation united in faith.
From the alleyways of Jerusalem’s Old City to the quiet corners of Tel Aviv apartments, Jews from every background, secular and religious, Ashkenazi and Sephardi, soldier and civilian, turned their hearts to heaven. As the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) worked to intercept wave after wave of Iranian ballistic missiles and suicide drones, tens of thousands gathered in prayer, calling out to God for protection, strength, and peace.
A Night of Danger and Devotion
The barrage, which began late Saturday night, marked one of the most intense nights in Israel’s recent military history. According to the IDF, over 400 projectiles were launched from Iran and its proxies, including ballistic missiles aimed at central Israel. Multiple direct hits were reported in Rehovot and Bat Yam, with significant damage to residential buildings and at least one strike on a research center at the Weizmann Institute of Science. The Home Front Command confirmed dozens of injuries and at least one fatality.
“This is what it means to be part of this nation,” said Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, head of the IDF Home Front Command. “Even under attack, we build. Even while mourning, we pray. And even as we fight, we look to Heaven.”
Faith as Shield and Sword
While Israel’s Iron Dome, Arrow, and David’s Sling systems have intercepted hundreds of incoming threats, many Israelis believe the true shield lies in the merit of their prayers. Rabbinic leaders have echoed the sentiment, urging communities to gather for prayer and mitzvot (good deeds) as spiritual defense.
Hope Amid Uncertainty
As the skies quieted by early morning and the threat of further attacks remained high, Israel stood at a tense crossroads. Officials warned of possible additional missile waves. Defense Minister Katz said Israel was “prepared for all scenarios” and hinted at further action in Iran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed: “This is not the end.” But amid the uncertainty, one thing was clear: the Jewish people’s unshakable faith.
