Jewish Agency Launches Emergency Fund for Victims of Iranian Missile Attacks
The Jewish Agency launched the new fund the day after the attack in Iran to provide urgent aid to victims of attacks on Israel, while the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem website published financial guidelines for American citizens abroad during the war.

In a swift response to the escalating security situation, The Jewish Agency for Israel, in partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and Keren Hayesod, has announced the establishment of the "Lion's Roar" Emergency Fund.
Within hours of the conflict’s outbreak, the fund was mobilized to provide immediate financial relief to those impacted by Iranian missile fire. With an initial scope of tens of millions of shekels, the initiative aims to offer a critical safety net for Israeli civilians during these turbulent times.
Immediate Relief for Families and Victims
The "Lion’s Roar" fund is specifically designed to bypass bureaucratic delays and provide rapid assistance to those facing the harshest consequences of the war.
According to the Jewish Agency, emergency grants are currently available for:
To ensure the funds reach those in genuine need, eligibility is determined based on reports from municipal engineers. Applicants are required to register through a dedicated portal, providing necessary documentation such as ID, bank account details, and rental agreements where applicable.
Beyond immediate financial aid, the Jewish Agency has signaled that it is preparing to expand its support to include long-term mental health and trauma services for those affected by the conflict.
U.S. Embassy Guidance for Americans Abroad
While North American Jewry rallies to support Israel, the U.S. government is also outlining protocols for its own citizens. American citizens currently residing in Israel who find themselves abroad and in need of financial assistance due to the crisis are being directed to the U.S. Embassy’s emergency services.
However, the U.S. Embassy in Israel emphasizes a "self-help" first policy. According to official guidelines, U.S. citizens requiring emergency financial aid abroad should first attempt to contact family members, friends, banking institutions, or employers. The American Citizen Services (ACS) unit at the embassy stands ready to facilitate these efforts if necessary.
How to Help and How to Apply
The Jewish Agency is calling on the global community to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts. Donations to the "Lion’s Roar" fund can be made directly through the agency’s website.
