IDF Chief: Forces Ready for Renewed Intense Combat

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir convened a high-level operational forum Monday evening with senior military leadership, including all commanders ranked brigadier general and above. Zamir emphasized that while political processes are underway across multiple fronts, the IDF maintains full readiness to resume combat operations if necessary.

"Political negotiations are taking place across all major theaters in recent days, all of these are the result of the IDF's historic achievements," Zamir told the assembled commanders. "We must ensure that we fully exploit and maximize the gains from these operations. We are well-prepared defensively, while maintaining immediate readiness and alertness to return to intense fighting."

The forum included comprehensive operational and intelligence briefings covering all active theaters, alongside strategic discussions among commanders about the continuation of the campaign. Military leaders presented case studies, reviewed the evolution of combat operations, and shared lessons learned from tactical activities across all sectors.

Zamir described Israel as standing at a strategic crossroads, with the IDF engaged in a large-scale, prolonged, multi-front campaign. He stressed that the military's mission is to shape reality through tactical and systemic initiative rather than being dragged along by events.

"The achievements we have secured across all fronts are first and foremost your achievements, the commanders and forces on land, at sea and in the air, the intelligence personnel, communications specialists, logistics and administration teams," he told the commanders. "Together you have led the IDF to significant accomplishments and changed the security reality."

Zamir added that the IDF is currently in an "interim period" but remains alert and prepared for all challenges ahead. "Alongside the desire to allow forces to refresh themselves, we cannot afford to lose our edge. We are required to maintain high readiness, to be prepared for a rapid return to intense combat, to respond quickly to any development, and to continue protecting our citizens."

The forum also featured Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, who reviewed the partnership between the IDF and the U.S. military. Zamir thanked him for the cooperation and presented him with a gift as a token of appreciation, describing the collaboration between the two militaries as unprecedented and a strategic anchor.
