Israeli police bomb disposal experts were called to a residential area in Nahariya on Monday morning after a suspicious object resembling an explosive device was discovered on a vehicle.
Officers from the Nahariya station cordoned off the area and moved bystanders to a safe distance while explosives specialists from the Coastal District examined the object. Following their inspection, authorities determined the device was a fake.
According to a police statement, "Officers from Nahariya station and bomb disposal technicians from the Coastal District are handling a suspicious object that was located in the city of Nahariya, following a report received at the 100 emergency hotline regarding a suspicious object found at the location. Officers have sealed off the scene and are moving onlookers away to protect public safety and security."
The statement added: "Police are asking the public to stay away from the area, follow the instructions of officers on the ground, and in any case of identifying a suspicious object, report immediately to the 100 hotline."
