During the incident, residents were instructed to remain in their apartments and seal their doors until the fire was brought under control. Once the blaze was extinguished, rescue teams reached the trapped residents.

MDA Paramedic Gil Dekel, who was at the scene, described the rescue, "After the firefighting operations, they rescued a man and a woman in their 80s who were unconscious, without a pulse, and not breathing after inhaling a large amount of smoke. We provided life-saving medical treatment, including prolonged resuscitation, and evacuated them to the hospital in critical condition."

In addition to the two fatalities, nine other residents required medical attention, including one woman (73) in serious condition, another woman (42) in moderate condition and seven residents who suffered mild injuries from smoke inhalation.

The victims were evacuated to the hospital for further treatment as fire investigators began work at the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
