In a dramatic televised broadcast delivered this morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the citizens of both Israel and Iran, formally announcing the commencement of a joint military offensive with the United States to eliminate the Iranian existential threat.
The Prime Minister began by expressing gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for his "historic leadership" in the mission, which Netanyahu identified as a turning point after decades of hostility. He noted that for 47 years, the Ayatollah regime has chanted "Death to Israel" and "Death to America," while spilling the blood of countless civilians and its own people.
Netanyahu emphasized that a "murderous terror regime" must never be allowed to arm itself with nuclear weapons, as such a development would threaten all of humanity. He stated that the primary objective of the combined military action is to create the necessary conditions for the "brave Iranian people to take their fate into their own hands."
Speaking directly to the diverse ethnic groups within Iran, including Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baluchis, and Ahwazis, the Prime Minister urged them to cast off the chains of tyranny and usher in a free, peace-seeking Iran.
Turning to the Israeli home front, Netanyahu called for national resilience during Operation Lion’s Roar. He urged citizens to strictly follow Home Front Command instructions, noting that the coming days will require great patience and mental strength. "Together we will stand, together we will fight, and together we will ensure the eternity of Israel," he concluded.
