Is it really over?
Back to Fighting? Netanyahu Vows: “We Will Achieve All War Objectives”
At the state memorial for the fallen of Operation Iron Swords, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledges unity and determination as Israel faces ongoing security challenges.

At the official memorial ceremony on Mount Herzl for the soldiers who fell during Operation Iron Swords, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a forceful address emphasizing Israel’s resolve.
“Two years ago, we witnessed the horrifying reality of ‘genocide,’ not a fictitious accusation,” Netanyahu said, referring to the October 7 massacre. “The brutal killing of infants, children, adults, and the elderly, if the perpetrators could have done more, they would have slaughtered us all. This is the real genocide.”
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to the hostages, saying, “We are determined to bring all captives home. The fallen fought to achieve all the war’s objectives and we will achieve them.”
Netanyahu highlighted both the challenges and opportunities facing the nation. “Significant challenges lie ahead from our enemies seeking to rearm,” he said. “But there are also dramatic opportunities to expand the circle of peace. In both, what is required is unity: unity in war, unity in peace. We will achieve all our goals only through internal cohesion, mutual responsibility, and strengthening what unites us over what divides us… We are determined to complete the victory that will shape our lives for many years to come.”
President Isaac Herzog also spoke at the memorial, addressing the families of the fallen. “In this sacred moment, in this sacred place, I wish to speak as President of the State of Israel to you, my dear ones, and to all bereaved families: bow your heads in reverence, and allow me to say, thank you, on behalf of the State of Israel,” Herzog said.
