A 50-year-old man was killed and two others were airlifted to Soroka Medical Center following a severe two-car collision on Route 90. Police have launched an investigation into the deadly morning crash as emergency teams describe a "difficult scene" near the Arava junction.

A 50-year-old man was killed Sunday morning in a violent two-vehicle collision on Route 90 near Ein Hatzeva. The crash, which occurred between two private passenger cars, left two others seriously injured and triggered a massive emergency response.
MDA paramedics and firefighters arrived to find the victim trapped inside the wreckage of his vehicle. Following an extraction operation by Fire and Rescue Services, medical teams conducted examinations but were forced to declare the man dead at the scene.
Rescue and Evacuation
In the second vehicle, first responders treated a 60-year-old man in serious condition suffering from multi-system trauma, and a 60-year-old woman in moderate condition with limb injuries. Both remained conscious throughout the initial treatment.
"When we arrived, we saw a severe accident," said MDA paramedics Hodaya Shalom-Winter and Dan Avivi. "We provided life-saving medical care and transferred them to an MDA helicopter that landed nearby to evacuate them to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba."
Investigation Launched
Israel Police have opened a formal inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators from the Negev District and officers from the Dimona station are currently at the scene collecting evidence and witness testimony.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. Route 90, known as one of Israel's most dangerous highways, remains under police supervision as the wreckage is cleared.
