IDF: Kiryat Shmonah Residents to be Evacuated
The decision was made by the National Emergency Authority in the Defense Ministry and the IDF due to the northern front heating up.
The National Emergency Authority in the Defense Ministry and the IDF announced the implementation of the plan to evacuate the residents of Kiryat Shmonah to guest houses at government expense.
This announcement comes today after the northern sector registered significant intensification yesterday (Thursday), with dozens of rockets being fired on the Upper and Western Galilee. Two direct hits were registered in Kiryat Shmonah, with three wounded from the blasts – one seriously and two lightly.
The Defense Ministry Spokesperson and the IDF Spokesperson announced that the implementation of the plan was approved by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Northern Command informed the mayor of the decision a short time ago. The plan will be managed by the local authority, the Tourism Ministry, and the National Emergency Authority in the Defense Ministry.
