It was released for publication that the IDF forces rescued the bodies of the abductees Eden Zacharia and Ziv Dado, and returned them from Gaza to Israel. During the activity to locate the bodies, the fighters Gal Eizenkot and Eyal Berkowitz fell.

A sad end: It was released for publication that the bodies of the abductees Eden Zacharia and Senior Sergeant Ziv Dado were rescued today (Tuesday) by IDF forces in the operation of fighters from Unit 504 in the Intelligence Division and Brigade 551, and were brought from the Gaza Strip to the territory of the State of Israel.
After an identification procedure carried out by medical officials and military rabbis, together with the Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police, today IDF and police representatives informed the families of the late Eden Zacharia and the late Senior Sergeant Ziv Dado, who were kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas, of the fact that their bodies were recovered and returned to the territory of Israel.

As a reminder, 27-year-old Eden was kidnapped from the party in Re'im, and 36-year-old Ziv was kidnapped and fell while serving as a logistics foreman in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade - when to this day he was recognized as having been kidnapped and murdered by a terrorist organization. An IDF spokesperson stated that "we share in the grief of the families and will continue to support them."

At the same time, the IDF said that as part of the activity that made it possible to locate the bodies, Major (res.) Gal Meir Eizenkot and Sergeant (res.) Eyal Meir Berkowitz fell, and other soldiers were injured. "The national mission before our eyes is to locate the missing and return all the abductees home" it was said. "We are working together with the security agencies, with all the intelligence and operational means to return all the abductees home."
