Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited the northern Gaza Strip today (Thursday) with a number of senior officers, where he observed the methods used to deal with Hamas terror tunnels.

Gallant then conducted an observation of the northern Strip from an IDF outpost, and spoke with soldiers of the Netzach Yehudah battalion, who are defending the sector. He also spoke to the soldiers of their time spent during the war, and how they combine Torah study during military service.

Among other things, Gallant said "we are using Hamas’ tunnel network in order to dismantle the [terrorist] organization. They thought it would serve as a way to escape, and that the tunnels would be areas where they could fight. Instead, they are turning into traps.”

“The result is very clear: they are getting weaker with each passing day, while we are getting stronger. We will keep going until we eliminate Hamas...There is only one area where we are prepared to make concessions, should these be required, and that is in relation to the hostages.”
