The Saudi television channel 'Al-Hadath' reported this morning (Sunday) that rescue forces in the Gaza Strip have located the body of Mohammed Sinwar, the de facto Hamas leader and brother of Yahya Sinwar, in a tunnel that was attacked by the IDF last week.

The bodies of Sinwar, along with ten of his aides, were reportedly found in the tunnel that was attacked in Khan Younis. It was also reported that the commander of the Rafah Brigade, Mohammed Shabana, who is considered one of the last architects of the surprise October 7 attack, was also killed in the airstrikes.

An Israeli security source stated: "We cannot confirm this report, but if Sinwar and Shabana have indeed been eliminated - this is undoubtedly a dramatic event. Sinwar was one of the most extreme figures in Hamas Gaza, his elimination could change the entire campaign."

Last week it was reported Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida may also have been present in the tunnel that was attacked. Abu Obeida never revealed his true identity and is considered a revered figure in the Arab world.
