National Security Council Director Tzachi Hanegbi addressed the continuation of fighting in Gaza and said that "fighting will continue at least for another seven months," he told Reshet Bet radio.

Hanegbi also noted that the IDF controls 75% of the Philadelphi corridor bordering Egypt.

He added that "this war is just and necessary. Without it we will not [...] maintain our independence. We were attacked by the proxies of Iran on seven different fronts, a war we are united by. This is a long war against a power which is trying to place a noose around us, and whoever gets tired first - loses."
