Shocking Claim: Likud MK Reveals Shin Bet Official Met Hamas Leader Hours Before October 7
A Likud MK used parliamentary immunity to accuse a former senior Shin Bet official, identified as "Oscar," of meeting a top Hamas terrorist in Gaza just hours before October 7, an alleged lapse that fuels the official's refusal to testify.

Alleged Meeting on Eve of Attack
Likud MK Tally Gotliv, a member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, used her parliamentary immunity on Thursday to reveal a highly sensitive detail regarding the security failures that preceded the October 7 assault. Gotliv asserted that "Oscar," the former head of the Shin Bet’s Southern District, dispatched an officer to the Erez crossing on the night of October 6, around 10 p.m., to meet with a senior Hamas figure, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, roughly eight hours before the mass attack commenced.
Gotliv directly accused the official, saying, "R. from the Shin Bet, known as Oscar, I didn’t add the first letter of your last name out of courtesy, sent an officer to the Erez crossing on the night of October 6th at around 10 p.m. to meet with the cruel Izz al-Din al-Haddad."
According to the MK, the purpose of the late-night contact was for the official to hear directly from the Hamas arch-terrorist about the developing situation concerning "SIM cards and other signs" of unusual activity. Gotliv criticized the official's judgment, adding, "in your utter lunacy, you believed the bizarre story that the damned terrorist told you."
Refusal to Testify Fuels Controversy
Gotliv’s statement follows reports that two senior Shin Bet officials have repeatedly refused to report to the State Comptroller’s Office to testify in the investigation into the catastrophic intelligence failures of October 7, even after State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman invoked a never-before-used legal clause to summon them.
Gotliv specifically linked the alleged meeting to the refusal to testify, asking, "Now I understand why you refuse to appear before the State Comptroller."
The MK then contrasted the official's alleged actions with the deployment of an elite unit. She questioned how the official would explain the use of the Tequila team, a small, elite undercover unit sent to the Gaza border on the night before October 7 due to the multiple signs of an impending attack, when simultaneously thousands of young Israelis were abandoned at the Nova music festival in an open area near the border, leading to murder, abduction, and wounding. Despite the signs of an impending assault, the Shin Bet failed to call in reinforcements or alert the Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu.
Gotliv concluded her fiery statement with a commitment to transparency, asserting, "But fortunately, we have brave and trustworthy people who love our nation and this country, and thanks to them, we will eventually reach the truth."
